Theresa Marie is an award-winning technology executive with a well-earned reputation as an extraordinary team builder who is gifted at finding solutions to complex scenarios. Her background includes 25 years in the mortgage lending industry where she was involved in every aspect of the technology and operations of a mortgage bank – from origination to servicing and from process assessment to new technology solution integration. Additionally, Theresa has been the driving force behind innovative mortgage technology solutions, where she led multiple initiatives that advanced the effectiveness of technology and process in mortgage lending including the design of an innovative Automated Underwriting System.
Theresa has been recognized as a leader in the mortgage lending industry. She was a winner of the 2020 Women Powerhouse award and received both the 2009 Technology Council - Women in Technology Nomination, the 2009 Celent Model Bank award winner, and the 2007 IT Excellence Award for Best Solution. She has been active in industry organizations such as the Mortgage Bankers Association, American Institute of Banking, UW-Madison & CUNA Financial Counseling School.
Throughout her career, Theresa has been deeply involved in community activities including playing key roles in local United Way initiatives, the Chamber of Commerce, and various leadership positions in youth-oriented support agencies.
She and her husband live in Austin where they support local charities including donating their time to help low-income families address complex financial management issues.
Personal Trivia -
She was promoted rapidly and by the age of 29 she was EVP Operations and Board Member for BentTree Mortgage in Dallas
In 1990 she created a mortgage lending origination system and BOLTS – Back Office Lending & Tracking System to calculate profit per loan. BOLTS was deployed to several Dallas mortgage banks
In 1996 she led the programming team to create an automated underwriting system ("AUS”)
During high school she was on the Wisconsin state champion swim team, she was a cheerleader for Madison West high school, she was on the honor roll every semester and she tutored calculus in high school and college
She was awarded a competitive 4-year scholarship to University of Wisconsin – Madison
After college, she joined the Frost Bank commercial lending operation in downtown Dallas
She is a design, form and function expert having operated business in interior design and women's fashion
